I'm a writer, an editor, a teacher, a traveler and many things in between--a Jill of all trades, really. I have a passion for learning, and that's why I love being a reporter. Each and every day, as I research my latest story, I marvel at how lucky I am to be in a constant state of learning and experiencing new and amazing things.
I also have a love for people, something that was passed down to me from my grandfather, one of the major influencers in my life. I spent a lot of time with my grandfather when I was growing up, and we would often go on little adventures together, whether it was a walk around the neighborhood or a ride around town. On many of these trips, we would stop and talk to several people we'd meet along the way, and I would watch the ways in which my grandfather would interact with the people we met. I would listen to the questions he would ask them, and I would stand there, in awe of the way they would respond to him so easily, as if they had known him their whole lives. He had a way of making strangers feel like they had just reconnected with their long-lost friend.
My grandfather, in many ways, was my first journalism teacher, and there is a piece of him in every story I write.
When I'm not writing or teaching or editing, I'm probably curled up on the couch with a good book or traveling to a new city (I've managed to see 44 countries and 38 states!), and I am constantly planning my next trip.
So, if you're looking for an adventurous soul to spin a new story for you, you may have just found her!
